One developer on Team-XBMC recently tried porting VCL to Xbox but gave up because VideoLAN is designed to use too much system memory. in fact MPLayer's mission-statement is that MPlayer should always be the fastest and decode most A/V codecs of all UNIX players, (so I'm sure full H.264 support will come to it eventualy but it does help if you encurage them and FFmpeg )). mp4's it wont be much time at all until XBMC does.Originally posted by CruNcher vlc still has some flaws that mplayer doesn'tĪnd the time xbmc was starting vlc was in it early beginingsĪnd mplayer more advanced today both are almost equal Not entirely true, real reason is that MPlayer was (and still is) much more efficient in using the limited resources available on a standard Xbox, MPlayer gives more FPS with the Xbox slow CPU (Intel 733Mhz PIII x86) and runs much better with the little memory available (64MB shared system/graphics).

I know it is the same way of doing as before with h.263, but you guys are over my head with the new settings (not that hard to do, I know). Is or can one of you codec genius make a simple how to guide on the new AVC. It captures the frame to clipboard or file. In Nero Showtime player you can right click while playing or paused. If someone can tell me how to create screenshots I can post them :) (mpc may help, I will download it and try)
